Meet Sarae (Left) and Lanaya (Right), we are the dynamic duo behind Thoroughfare Baked Goods. Best friends first, and business partners second.
After meeting when working at a cake shop together in 2016, we have bonded over our love for creating fun, quality desserts for parties and events.
We started Thoroughfare Baked Goods in 2021, with the goal of opening up a drive-thru bakery one day. Due to the fact that we have started this business from the ground up, we decided to start by selling our baking at local farmer's markets. This was a great place to test out our recipes, meet local customers and vendors.
We quickly outgrew our at-home setup, and came across a commercial unit in Beaumont that had great potential for a commercial kitchen.
Did it require a bit of elbow grease to get it to where we needed it to be? YES, but it was worth it!
We are now Beaumont's little door front bake shop, working towards the ground level bakery we have always dreamed of.
It is important to us that our entryway has a fun, and inviting vibe, hence the sprinkle walls!
We understand that our operations are not the norm, and we appreciate the support our community has shown us throughout the years.

Lanaya has finished both the culinary and baking programs at NAIT and has her red seal ticket in both!
She has spent many years training with high end pastry chefs and culinary masters. In 2012, she travelled to Dubai to compete in the Emirates Culinaire. She has learned a ton of skills from working at Bonton Bakery for over 5 years on the pastry team, and also working for catering companies, custom cake shops and local dine dining restaurants throughout her career.
Sarae also attended the baking program at NAIT, and has gained her Journeyman ticket as a baker. She was quickly taken under the wing of the cake decorating world early in her career. Not only does she have years and years of cake decorating experience, she specializes in catering, events and weddings. Although Sarae loves baking and decorating, she has since transitioned to the front end of the business to take care of customer relations, social media and more!
